Arthur Scott

"You can blink your eye and miss it."

Arthur Scott, 55, is a 30-year resident of Rillito. After moving back and caring for his mother near the end of her life, he decided to stay in her home. Scott has seen the changes in demographics over the years, with less families and more retired people. He said this was due to most of the younger generation moving away, like Scott until he returned to care for his mother, and many of the older generation staying in Rillito. Scott knew all the town gossip, and gave tips on who to talk to and what to talk about.  He doesn’t want any retailers brought into the area because he fears it could spike crime like the crime that has been seen in neighboring residencies. Although he enjoys the quiet community, there are some things he wishes would be changed. The abandoned homes and cracked roads are big issues for many residents in the small town of Rillito.

“Just tear [the abandoned area] down. You don’t have to do anything with it, but no one wants to see that.”
